“This defamatory press release is purely a media stunt and appears to be created to confuse the public and undermine the multitude of health data and reports which have been completed by independent toxicologists over the last 2 years that have found no expected short-or long-term health impacts from the landfill.
This bogus press release cites random public health data, some of which is more than a decade old. Then, without any attribution, the press release claims that the data shows, “widespread public health impacts from emissions from the landfill.” None of the data purports to relate to the landfill, nor does it draw any conclusions whatsoever about the landfill.
Although the press release references a CASPER study, Chiquita is unaware of any such study and it has never received a copy.”
